Losing weight can be easy o it can be hard – it all depends on whether you have the right state of mind about your weight loss goals and you’re real reasons to want to lose weight fast.

New year is a popular time for starting a weight loss diet as losing weight is usually new the top of people’s new years resolutions. The problem is knowing who to listen to when it comes to deciding on which weight loss diet you’re going to follow – if any.

A couple of ads I’ve seen running on the TV this week include a “Drive Thru Diet” from Taco Bell, and the “Special K” diet.

If we look at the Taco Bell weight loss diet, they’re claiming that by replacing your normal fast food with Taco Bell’s Fresco menu – which have between 20 and 100 fewer calories than the regular version. A regular Crunchy Taco has 170 calories and 10 grams of fat! The Fresco version has 150 calories and 7 grams of fat. So the Fresco Taco isn’t actually particularly a healthy weight loss diet plan, but by the nature that it has fewer calories it could help you lose weight simply because you are reducing calories.

It’s the same story with the Special K weight loss diet – they’re suggesting you replace two of your daily meals with something from the Special K range like a cereal or protein bar or a protein shake. So again, they’re basically finding a way to reduce calories, and cleverly disguising it as a weight loss diet product.

The new year is a great time to dig out some new weight loss tips that will not only help you lose weight fast, but also help you keep losing weight week after week, and help you keep it off permanently.

If you want to know how to lose weight naturally, these weight loss tips are just what you need:

1. Think carefully before you eat. This is definitely the best way to lose weight without too much pressure or will power required. How often do you eat when you’re not really hungry just because tasty food is available? That food is always going to be available, so don’t think that you have to eat now just because it’s there. If you’re not hungry, leave it till next time.

2. Don’t eat so fast. Eating slowly is one of the easiest weight loss tips to implement right now. If your food tastes so good, then why rush it? Eat slowly, chew plenty and really savor the taste. Doing so will mean it takes less food to make you feel like you’re full simply because it takes time for the “full” message from your stomach to reach and register with your brain – give it time.

A weight loss diet should contain about 1200 calories a day for women and 1800 a day for men. Don’t go lower than this as you then risk not getting all the nutrition your body needs, and worse still you’ll start to slow your metabolism which means it will become a lot harder for your body to burn fat as it goes into “starvation mode”.
